Tom's been with THP since 2008 and has combined his career with studying to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

During that time he has gained experience across the whole range of accountancy services, from personal and corporation tax right through to auditing.

He's also helped clients of all kinds, from sole traders to big companies that turn over many millions of pounds each year.

Tom relishes the challenges accountancy offers him and values the opportunities he gets to meet clients and learn about their businesses. This has given him a broad understanding of many different industries, which makes his advice to clients all the more invaluable.

While Tom enjoys the full spectrum of accountancy work, he does have a growing interest in tax.

"Clients really care about how much tax they pay, and it's good to help them find ways of reducing it."

Tom also likes projects he's involved in from the beginning to final sign-off: "There's a satisfaction of looking at the result and being able to say 'I did that'."

When it comes to training, Tom likes THP's open and helpful culture because it allows him to develop his skills much faster: "You get much more close contact with directors than you would in the huge accounting firms, and that's a real strength."
