We’re delighted to see Aldersbrook Bowling Club celebrating an excellent 2026 season after THP Accountants sponsored the club’s new kit.

There was plenty to celebrate on the green. Aldersbrook won the Foresters League championship, clinching the title on the final day of the season, and earned promotion to Division Two of the Walthamstow and District Thursday Fours League.

Cup competitions brought further success. The club made it through to three Essex Group Five finals and won all three. Jerry Quy was among the winners, taking the Champion of Champions title by the narrowest of margins, 21-20.

Aldersbrook players also earned recognition beyond the club. Five were selected to represent Group Five in the Ashford Cup, while Alan Tetlow gained his county badge during the season.

Elsewhere, the club returned to the Redbridge Afternoon and Ilford District leagues after an absence of several years. Aldersbrook also reached the quarter-finals of the West Essex and East London League, where eventual champions North Greenwich ended their run with a 46-42 victory.

The season also brought another boost off the green, with Martin & Co becoming an additional club sponsor.

It’s been a memorable year for everyone involved with Aldersbrook Bowling Club, and we’re very pleased to support a local club enjoying such a strong season.

You can read more about Aldersbrook’s achievements in the original Ilford Recorder article.
