So, you’re looking for accounting jobs in London!

Maybe you’re just beginning your career and you’re looking for a London accountancy firm that can offer you that vital first job? Or perhaps you’re an experienced accountant looking for your next challenge? Or could you be looking for a non-accountancy role, such as a practice administrator? We have a number of accounting jobs in London at this moment in time.

Whatever your career ambitions, THP could have the perfect role for you. You can find our current vacancies here, but first let’s tell you a bit more about us. If you like what you read, we’d love to hear from you!

Where in London does THP offer accounting jobs?

Since THP started life in London in 1974, we’ve grown steadily and merged with a number of other accountancy firms. Today we have over 40 employees who work at four different branches. Two of these are in the capital: our head office in Wanstead, East London, plus our branch at Cheam, in the London Borough of Sutton. We also have two branches in Essex: one in Chelmsford and another in the pretty town of Saffron Walden.

If I want an accounting job in London, why should I choose THP?

Our best asset is the fact we’re big enough to offer great job opportunities, but small enough to retain a friendly, ‘can-do’ working atmosphere.

Many people looking for accounting jobs in London face two main choices. They can either go and work for a huge accountancy firm where they’ll be just one employee among hundreds, if not thousands. Or they can find a job with a friendly, small, High Street accounting practice, where there’s not much scope for promotion or career development.

THP offers the best of both worlds. Our accountants can develop their own interests and specialisms, helping us to offer clients expert services and advice in fields like tax planning and audit – or even in sectors like the buy-to-let market. But at the same time, they are always part of a supportive team and able to take advantage of excellent mentoring, training and skills development.

Oh, and we nearly forgot to mention – we offer a very competitive salary too, not to mention lots of perks, freebies and discounts.

What kind of clients will I work with?

At THP, you’ll work for lots of different clients and some really nice people. From large retail firms to education specialists and veterinary practices to games developers, our clients are ambitious, interesting and demand a lot from their accountants!

Will I have to work in London?

If you’re looking for accounting jobs in London, we’re assuming that’s where you’d like to work! But if you’d rather live outside the capital, cut down on the daily commute, or simply feel like a career opportunity elsewhere, then we regularly advertise positions at our Essex branches.

How do I apply for a job at THP?

The first step is to check out our current vacancies. At the time of writing, we have a great selection of positions at our two London offices in Wanstead and Cheam. But don’t worry if you can’t see the right job for you – if you’ve got skills, talent and ambition we still want to hear from you. Simply visit this page to send us your CV and a covering letter and we’ll invite you to apply for any suitable positions that come up in the future!

About Samantha Rowe

Sam’s title is Operations Manager, but the title itself doesn’t truly convey the variety of what she does for THP.  From administrative tasks to payroll, strategic business planning, and office systems and procedures, Sam’s primary skill lies in multitasking.

Sam’s journey began as an office junior with George Nottage (now merged with THP), and she soon learned skills in payroll and bookkeeping, and then gained experience as a PA to the Directors, and as Administration Manager.

At the moment, Auto Enrolment is an area that has a key focus for Sam, and for THP as a whole.  “The question I’m asked the most by clients just now is, ‘How will auto enrolment affect me?’ And the answer is, no matter how big or small you are, you will absolutely be affected by the Auto Enrolment regulations. I’d encourage you to start thinking about it now, and to look at your payroll software to make sure you’re ready.”
