Graduate Trainee Accountant

We’re looking for a bright, motivated university graduate to join our growing team in Wanstead as a graduate trainee accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in accountancy and gain hands-on experience in both accounts preparation and tax compliance while working towards your ACA qualification (ICAEW).

You will work directly with experienced accountants and directors, developing technical knowledge and client-handling skills in a supportive and professional environment.

Key responsibilities:

As a Graduate Trainee Accountant, you will be involved in:

• Assisting the Bookkeeping team
• Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
• Assisting in the preparation of corporation and personal tax returns
• Supporting the production of management accounts and financial reports
• Using industry-leading software including Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, IRIS, and Excel
• Liaising with HMRC and other third parties as needed
• Working as part of a team to deliver high-quality services to a varied portfolio of clients
• Learning and applying knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 105, and tax legislation
• Receiving ongoing support and mentoring while completing your ACA studies

Essential Skills & Experience

• 2:1 or above in a relevant degree (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a numerate subject)
