This role offers a varied and hands-on opportunity within a dynamic accountancy practice. You’ll work across our Wanstead and Chelmsford offices, supporting two Directors in delivering a high-quality, client-focused service. The role involves working with a broad portfolio of clients and offers scope for professional development / progression.
Key responsibilities:
• Prepare and complete statutory accounts, year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Manage a diverse client portfolio (with turnover up to £8m) including owner-managed businesses (OMB’s), property developers / investors and retail businesses
• Prepare and submit corporation tax returns in line with HMRC requirements returns
• Produce monthly or quarterly management accounts including budgeting and forecasting
• Complete company secretarial work including filings with Companies House
• Liaise with third parties (e.g. HMRC, mortgage brokers) on behalf of clients
• Maintain and grow strong, long-term client relationships
• Organise and manage your own workload effectively, ensuring all deadlines and budgets are met
• Resolve client queries in a timely and professional manner, escalating when necessary
• Assist with ad-hoc client projects and Director-led initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
- 2:1 or above in a relevant degree (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a numerate subject)
