Are You Looking For A Reliable Chartered Accountant Belmont?
A village on the southern outskirts of Sutton, Belmont used to go by the far more exotic name of California. When the then tiny settlement acquired a station in 1865, it was named after the nearby Hotel California – but had to be rechristened after goods kept being shipped to America by mistake.
Rapid growth between the wars turned a few houses into a suburban village – and Belmont now has a small high street, a park and two nature reserves, Belmont Pastures and Cuddington Meadows. The latter is a 3.5-acre chalk grassland site with a variety of flowering plants, plus butterflies including a small population of rare small blues, marbled whites and orange tips. There's also a pond where you can see birds, frogs, newts and dragonflies.
Belmont train station has two trains an hour to London Victoria, though it's actually a quicker journey to London Bridge, if you change at Sutton.
